Germaine Tailleferre was the only woman who was a member of the group of French composers known as Les Six (“The Six”), who flourished in the early twentieth century. In a video interview with her students at Sam Houston State University, Dr. Melissa Cummins explores aspects of Tailleferre’s biography and her extensive compositional output. The video concludes with a performance of “La moustachette” from Tailleferre’s Monsieur Petitpois achète un château presented at the University of Kansas in 2016.
